of the Almoravids, the many decorative arches, the two magnificent Saadian pavilions of the “sahn” (patio), the large chandelier, and the precious Almoravid “minbar”.

Al-Andalous Mosque

“mosque is recognizable by its white minaret and monumental portal, decorated with zellige mosaics and a carved cedar canopy.

This emblematic building in Fez was founded during
the half of IX century by a pious woman, Mariyam el Fihriya. It bears the name of Andalusian families who settled in Fez after being driven out of Cordoba by the Umayyads.

Synagogue Ibn Danane

If this synagogue is named for Rabbi Shlomo Aben Danan, who officiated there at the beginning of the 20th century, he did not have it built. It was Rabbi Mimoun Boussidan, who decided on its construction in 1680.

Reopened on the 25th of February 1999, this synagogue is one of the most beautiful expressions of Fassi and Moroccan Judaism.
