Bab Boujloud gate is one of the main entrances to the medina. Unique by its strategic location, this great door opens on the one hand on Talaa Sghira and Talaa Kbira, two main arteries serving Fez El-Bali (the old Fez), and on the other hand on Boujloud square with its high adobe walls and Fez Jdid (new Fez). This monumental gate stands out with its architectural elements and ornaments. Khrachefiyine bridge is one of the oldest bridges. Its construction was decided by the Zenet Emir Dounas ben Hamama in the 11th century, in order to connect the right bank to the left bank of the river Fez. Khrachefiyine bridge has undergone many catastrophes: destroyed by a fire in 1248, then again during floods that engulfed the city in 1325, it was rebuilt in 1326 by the Merinid Sultan Abu Said Othman. The North Borj is one of the most majestic defensive monuments in Fez! The word borj can literally be translated as “tower”, but in this case, it refers to a fortification that dominates the city on its northern side and recalls the borjs built in Italy during the Renaissance. Its history dates back to the 16th century. It was in 1963 that it was converted into a Museum of Arms. Fortifications and architecture
